本展では、BALCの所蔵作品をはじめ、2026年に個展を開催した作家、今後個展を予定している作家、そしてBALCとゆかりのある作家、総勢9名の作品を展示する。

「TIME CAPSULE」とは、ある時点の記憶や出来事を未来へと託し、時間を経て再びひらくための存在である。本展ではその言葉を、単なる過去の保存としてではなく、これまでの展示や出会いを現在の視点から再考し、その先にある未来の可能性へとつなぐための試みとして捉える。

参加する作家たちは、それぞれ異なる場所に身を置き、固有の視点や想いをもって制作を続けてきた。
手法、生い立ち、過ごしてきた土地、そして制作に向き合ってきた時間。そのひとつひとつが作品の奥行きとなり、画面のなかに静かに刻まれている。

ここに並ぶ作品は、単なる記録や回顧として提示されるものではない。時間を経て、いま、この場所であらためて見出される光景であり、これから先の出会いへとひらかれていく表現そのものである。

9名の作家による作品を通して、それぞれの歩みと、BALCという場所に蓄積されてきた時間が交差し、ひとつのタイムカプセルとして体現される。

This exhibition brings together works by nine artists, including pieces from the BALC collection, artists who held solo exhibitions at BALC in 2026, artists scheduled to present solo exhibitions in the future, and others with a close connection to the gallery.

A “time capsule” is something created to carry the memories and events of a particular moment into the future, to be opened again after the passage of time. In this exhibition, the term is understood not simply as a means of preserving the past, but as an attempt to reconsider past exhibitions and encounters from the perspective of the present, and to connect them to the possibilities that lie ahead.

Each of the participating artists has continued to create from a distinct place, guided by their own perspectives and intentions. Their methods, backgrounds, the places in which they have lived, and the time they have devoted to their practice all lend depth to their work, leaving quiet traces within each image.

The works presented here are not intended merely as records or retrospectives. Rather, they are scenes rediscovered in this place and at this moment, after the passage of time, and expressions that remain open to encounters yet to come.

Through the works of these nine artists, their individual journeys intersect with the layers of time accumulated within BALC, taking form as a single time capsule.
