” REVERSED CITY & MOUNTAIN “

本作品は、上下の反転によって二重の解釈を提示する。

逆さにすれば夕暮れの街が、水面に揺らめく光として立ち現れ、反転すれば荒々しい岩山の断面が姿をあらわす。都市と自然、文明と大地は対立するものではなく、視点を変えることで互いに映し合う存在である。

本作では、モナコの岩山や水面を撮影したイメージを基盤に、断面、岩山、島、鳥、暗闇といった要素をコラージュ的に取り込み、光と影の交錯を強調した。

「街」と「山」の境界を曖昧にし、都市と自然が互いに反射し合う「間（ま）」をつくりだすことで、現代における景観の多義性を表現している。


“REVERSED CITY & MOUNTAIN” destabilizes the binary opposition between city and nature, civilization and earth. Through inversion, the work contains dual images that challenge the viewer’s perception.

In one orientation, a city at dusk glimmers across a rippling surface; in the other, the raw cross-section of a rocky mountain emerges. What at first appears to be a polarity is revealed instead as a continuum, where the brilliance of the city and the ruggedness of the mountain share a common root.

Through collage-like layering—of cross-sections, cliffs, islands, birds, and darkness—the work resists convergence into a single viewpoint. This instability speaks to the multilayered nature of contemporary landscapes. The city unfolds as an extension of nature, while nature permeates the city from within. By employing the act of “reversal,” the piece powerfully articulates the inseparability and reciprocity of these worlds.
