Finally installed — a dream come true.

I was incredibly nervous throughout the installation, constantly wondering if everything would come together in time, and whether I could even finish all the frames.
But along the way, so many small and big miracles happened, and I’m deeply grateful for every single one of them.

In particular, curator Vida’s careful planning and support made this exhibition possible. Some of the works are being shown in this area for the very first time, which is a true honor for me.

While I was installing, people passing by asked if I was the artist. When I said yes, they were genuinely amazed — a moment I’ll never forget.

That’s why I’m so glad I came to New York for this. Every second was worth it.

ついに設営完了。夢が叶いました。

設営中は、本当にずっと緊張していて、
時間内に間に合うのか、耐久性はどうか。
順番、レイアウト、ライティング
そんなことばかり考えて夢が叶っている状況を感じることが出来ずにいて、

でも振り返ると、その道のりの中で大小さまざまな奇跡が起こり、
そのすべてに心から感謝しています。

特に、キュレーターのヴィダ（Vida）が細やかに手配し、導いてくれたおかげで、この展示は実現しました。
このエンパイアストアズのテナントエリアで初めて展示出来たこともあり
それをここで発表できることを本当に光栄に思っています。

設営している最中、通りがかった人たちに
「これを作ったのはあなたですか？」と声をかけられ、そうだと答えると、皆とても驚いてくれました。

だからこそ、この展示のためにニューヨークへ来て、本当によかったと思っています。
すべてが、来た価値のある時間でした。

Empire Stores was originally built between 1868 and 1885 as a waterfront warehouse complex in Brooklyn.
Constructed of solid brick, the seven buildings once stored coffee, sugar, molasses, and wool, supporting New York’s port industry at its peak.

At the time, Brooklyn’s shoreline was lined with massive warehouses and was known locally as “The Walled City.”
Empire Stores played a particularly important role in the coffee trade, helping make New York one of the major coffee hubs in the United States.

With changes in transportation and port logistics, the warehouses fell into decline and were largely abandoned by the 1950s–60s.
In the 2010s, the site was carefully revived through adaptive reuse, preserving its historic structure while transforming it into a contemporary cultural destination.

Today, Empire Stores is a place where history and contemporary expression coexist—a successful global example of architectural preservation and renewal.
Its original brick walls, slate surfaces, iron loading gear, and coffee chutes remain, now combined with glass and steel.
The public rooftop terrace offers sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, Brooklyn Bridge, and Manhattan Bridge.

Thousands of people visit the site every day.

Empire Stores は、1868年から1885年にかけて建設されたブルックリンの港湾倉庫群
レンガ造りの重厚な7棟の建物は、かつてコーヒー豆、砂糖、モラセス（糖蜜）、ウールなどを保管し、ニューヨークの港湾産業を支えていました。

当時のブルックリンの海岸線は倉庫が連なり、「壁の街（The Walled City）」と呼ばれていました。
Empire Stores は特にコーヒー流通の拠点として重要な役割を果たしていました。

港湾機能や輸送形態の変化により、1950〜60年代に倉庫としての役割を終えた後、
2010年代に歴史的建築を保存しながら再生するアダプティブ・リユースによって現代に蘇りました。

現在は、歴史と現代表現が共存する文化拠点として、世界的にも注目されています。
オリジナルのレンガ壁、板岩、鉄製の荷揚げ装置、コーヒー搬入口が残され、
ガラスや鋼材と融合した空間が広がります。
屋上は一般公開のテラスとなっており、マンハッタンのスカイライン、ブルックリン橋、マンハッタン橋を一望できます。

現在、毎日数千人が訪れるDUMBOを象徴する場所。
そんな場所に作品が飾られています。
